Our Story

My Ivy Leaguer was founded by an SAT tutor and Columbia student who wanted to make convenient, personalized Ivy League tutoring an option for everyone in Manhattan. After working for some of the most well-known test prep companies in America and spending years tutoring students around Manhattan independently, he decided to apply everything that he had learned to a new company – his goal was to provide Metropolitan Tutors’ clients with the tools they needed to be proud of their scores and academic performance.

He spent countless hours talking to industry leaders and clients, building the company based upon the suggestions and input of parents and educators around the city. Instead of opting for crowded, impersonal classrooms and generalized curriculum, he instead centered the company on the proven success of private tutoring. Individual tutoring provides children with the chance to have their unique needs met and their learning styles catered to - a gift that they rarely receive in large classrooms. With college and high school admissions becoming more competitive every day, private tutoring is becoming an increasingly necessary service.
